Weekend Away at Casa Palotti- Millgrove

About 20 people were involved in a lovely break away at Palotti over the weekend of Nov 17/18. Unfortunately there were a spate of last-minute withdrawals due to ill health and car troubles, but the rest of us had a quiet and restful break in the superb beauty of Millgrove with delightful company and lovely activities.

On Sat morning we settled in with chat and a lazy lunch. The weather had been overcast in the morning but lightened up so that most enjoyed a short bush walk in the fern glens around the property. Thence paper marbling and clay modelling were the highlights as people found new artistic expression in such tactile crafts. Thanks to John Wakefield and Joan Wright for initiating and teaching us these. Cooks and meal preparation and clean up were cool, calm affairs and everybody chipped in with what became pleasant communal fun times. Thanks to those who had prepared delicious casseroles for the evening meal.

Sunday morning saw a beautiful prayer time well prepared for by all present. The space was decorated, songs sung, drama delighted our understanding of the Word, elegant and simple prayers prayed and many friends were remembered. Thanks to Joan Wright who led our prayer time.
Lunch and clean up were again fun times with all helping.

Before leaving we booked the venue for next year, all sure that we would return for such a welcome, quiet break together again. Thanks to the Spiritual Life group for their planning and preparation and particularly to Trish Collier for the leadership of the whole weekend.

New House at Black Rock

Here is the house at Black Rock where we will start our journey in “living community” together in October, rented from the Catholic Parish of Beaumaris and Black Rock.

Only 10 minutes walk from the beautiful Black Rock beach, and 7 minutes walk from the shops.
