Foundation date: 17 March 2003.
The community members who live independently and two supported households in the suburbs of Carina and Morningside. Community members have connections to a variety of religious and social networks across Brisbane.

L’Arche Brisbane is a registered NDIS provider. Currently we are registered to provide support in the following classes. Accommodation/Tenancy; Assist- Life Stage, Transition; Daily Tasks/Shared Living; Development – Life Skills; Group/Centre Activities-programs of support for individual learning goals; Household Tasks; Participate in Community; Personal Activities High; Support Coordination. We would like to advised that we charge at the price limit as set out in the NDIS Support Catalogue for all supports. We welcome your enquiry to see if we may be a good fit for you in any of these listed areas.

Regular Activities
Our community meets at monthly gatherings and online. Members are encouraged to support each other with informal social catchups, prayer and a meal at a local Leagues Club when there is a 5th Sunday in the month. Two day retreats are provided each year. One is a for our local community and there is an opportunity to participate in a national retreat day with other communities online. Opportunities are also provided to participate in local cultural and civic events. Online networking includes social media with news and events. We welcome your interest and participation.

Job description
The Community Leader, under the guidance of the Board and with the support and supervision of the National Leader and Board Chairperson, is responsible for:
- Providing leadership to the L’Arche Community, ensuring alignment with the L’Arche Identity, Mission and the Charter while upholding its governance principles.
- Overseeing the Community’s operations to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
- Embodying the role of Community Leader by fostering an inclusive faith-based environment and facilitating community events.
Essential Selection Criteria
- An understanding of and commitment to the L’Arche Identity, Mission and Charter or a willingness to develop an understanding.
- A lived experience of spirituality and a willingness to uphold the faith traditions of the community.
- A demonstrated commitment to the L’Arche model of community life or a willingness to commit to living the role of Community Leader.
- An understanding of and ability to promote the valued place in society of people with intellectual disabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills in leading a community organisation in the disability sector.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to show respect, trust, openness, inclusion, and unity.
- NDIS Workers Screening.
